Friendly Foods

Our vision

Feed more people than McDonald's, every day.

Cooked by chefs around the country, in their own kitchens.

A real meal cooked at home

Why this.

Today, families face three choices: cook every meal themselves, order restaurant delivery, or subscribe to a heat-and-eat meal service. Each comes with tradeoffs—time, cost, or convenience. Cooking takes effort and planning. Delivery is expensive and often impersonal. Heat-and-eat meals are shipped from far away and made for the masses, not your home.

A chef in your neighborhood can do better, for less. The math works at scale because there is no national logistics layer to absorb the cost.

The math, plainly.

One chef starts by cooking for four families, each with an average of four people. That’s sixteen people. The chef cooks breakfast, lunch, and dinner for them, twice a week—so 3 meals x 16 people x 2 days, which equals 96 meals a week per chef. To reach a million meals a day, we only need around 1,500 chefs doing this in every city. Million-a-day scale, one kitchen at a time.

Multiply this simple math—four families become forty, forty become four hundred. Five chefs turn a neighborhood into a community table. A handful of cities, a million meals a day. The fundamentals never shift: people cooking for people, at the speed of trust.

Three things we believe.

Food was meant to be cooked by humans.

Not extruded, not flash-frozen, not assembled by robots in a factory eight hundred miles away.

Food is community.

Who cooked it. Where they cooked it. Who they were cooking for. Community is part of the experience.

Love can be tasted.

A chef who knows the family they are feeding cooks differently than one who does not. The difference shows up on the plate.

Where we are.

A few neighbourhoods in Los Angeles. A handful of chefs. The families they cook for. We add one neighborhood at a time.

Where we are going.

Los Angeles first. Then the cities where most American families live. The model is the same in every city — it is already how families fed themselves a generation ago. We just rebuilt the layer that connects them.
